Short Bio:

Toni Vere is a Canadian singer-songwriter who writes like she’s got nothing left to prove and plenty left to say.

Rooted in folk, rock and the grit of lived experience, Vere’s songs are populated by ordinary people, hard truths, dark humour and the stubborn resilience it takes to keep going. After years of making music, she re-emerged in 2024 with renewed purpose, playing close to 100 shows from Vancouver Island to Ottawa while building toward her sixth studio album, Picture Of You, arriving September 2026.

In 2026, Vere was selected for the National Music Centre/Write-On Songs Acoustic Guitar Project and the Rocky Mountain Listening Room Emerging Artist Program. Her song “Damn” also earned second place worldwide in the Folk category of the Talent Is Timeless songwriting competition.

At 64, Vere isn’t chasing youth, trends or permission. She’s doing something far more interesting: making the best music of her life.

Long Bio:

Toni Vere is a Canadian singer-songwriter whose music is built from lived experience: hard work, resilience, humour, heartache, and the stories found in ordinary lives, the kind that leaves a little dirt under your fingernails.

After re-emerging on the music scene in 2024, Toni quickly found her stride again as a songwriter and performer, bringing decades of life and musical experience to a new chapter in her career. Since then, she has been writing, recording, performing, and connecting with audiences across Western Canada.

In September 2026, Toni will release her new studio album, Picture Of You, a collection of songs rooted in storytelling, reflection, and the unmistakable perspective of an artist who has lived enough life to know what she wants to say. The project also includes a full-production music video.

Toni was selected to participate in the National Music Centre / Write-On Songs Acoustic Guitar Project in January 2026. She was also selected for the Rocky Mountain Listening Room Emerging Artist Program in April 2026, continuing a year filled with new opportunities, collaborations, and performances.

Whether she is playing solo with an acoustic guitar, sharing the stage with longtime collaborators, or performing with a full band, Toni’s songs remain at the centre of everything she does. Her writing is honest, observant, sometimes funny, sometimes uncomfortable, and always grounded in real life.

For Toni, songwriting has never been about chasing trends; it is about paying attention, telling the truth, and finding extraordinary songs in everyday moments.

Watch for Toni at Folk Music Canada 2026, where she’ll be performing in the Alberta Room, and on her upcoming Vancouver Island tour.

With Picture Of You arriving in September, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest and most exciting years of Toni Vere’s career—and she’s nowhere near finished yet.
